Editorial Layout designs for Next’s seasonal Newspaper. Used in-store as a touchpoint for the brand to increase customer awareness about its growing online offering of products.

Next plc is a British multinational clothing, footwear and home products retailer, which has around 700 stores in the UK, Europe, Asia and the Middle East.

Alongside the in-house design team at Next, I produced the editorial layouts of several branded, mens and kidswear spreads in multiple editions of the “Next Edited” newspaper. We were briefed to produce an engaging piece of printed design which would intrigue customers in-store, acting as a touchpoint for the brand, encouraging customers to further explore their product offering online. 

I was involved in the whole editorial process, from initial product briefings where we chose key trends and star pieces to development meetings where we finalised the editorial order of the newspaper, handing over layouts to senior designers for final art-work checks. 

The Edited Newspaper was given out in store to great feedback, due to the high quality of product showcased, it helped to elevate the brand’s image to customers. By highlighting a selection of seasonal products on offer across it’s fashion, beauty and home departments, the newspaper succeeded in increasing consumer interest in Next’s online offering, with many customers discovering new ranges of product they were previously unaware of.
